We will be doing something a little different with the Silent Auction this year as the beneficiary of the funds raised will be the Wyoming Alliance for Environmental Education (WyAEE). Some of you are familiar with WyAEE and some are not, so here’s a little bit about them and their partnership with the Council. This non-profit organization is a new partner of the WWPC. A few years ago, they invited the Council to have representation on the WyAEE Board of Directors. Meta Dittmer is currently serving in that role. WyAEE has put in hundreds of hours behind the scenes, working with Meta and the WWPC Education Committee to develop the new lesson plans for 3rd and 5th grade, and it’s only the beginning of the lessons in the works. They donated their time to come to our conference last fall. They will again be attending this fall and help Meta put on the 1-day education workshop on Monday, expanding these science-based lessons that meet the new science standards to anyone interested. There will be no registration fee for this workshop. More about WyAEE.
We hope each District will consider donating an item for the silent auction this year and help us support this non-profit that is doing so much to help the Council get the invasive species message out to our youth. If you have an item to donate, please ENTER IT HERE so we can keep track of the items.
